Caring for Victims of Violence with a Multidisciplinary Approach

Alaska Nurses Association is jointly providing with the Academy of Forensic Nursing and the University of Alaska Anchorage College of Health a regional conference with emphasis on promotion and expansion of forensic health care.

Interpersonal violence takes many forms and may include physical, sexual, psychological, emotional and financial abuse across the lifespan. Our current practices are typically focused on specialty responses to sexual assault and domestic violence. The goal of this conference is to promote and expand the use of health care providers with forensic training to better serve persons who have been harmed by violence.

Topics Include:

  • Mandatory Reporting
  • Trauma Informed Care
  • Elder Care Abuse
  • Building Resiliency
  • Forensic Healthcare Response
